The Great Lakes Education Project (GLEP) has endorsed State Representative Matt Hall of Comstock Township in the new 42nd House district:

“because he has demonstrated a real and lasting commitment to put Michigan kids first, to defend the rights and choices of parents, and to fight back against failed public school bureaucrats holding our children back.”

GLEP Executive Director Beth DeShone stated in a press release:

“Michigan’s kids are in crisis because of decisions made by Gretchen Whitmer and union bosses more interested in power than delivering for our children…The Great Lakes Education Project is proud and excited to stand with Matt Hall because he stands with Michigan’s children and their parents.”

The Executive Vice President for GLEP, Sarah Anderson also stated:

“Matt Hall gets it. Our children deserve open classrooms and educational programs that work for them. Every parent in the state deserves access to the schools, the resources, and the options they need to deliver for their kids where bureaucrats in Lansing have let them down. We have seen staggering learning loss, an unprecedented mental health crisis among kids; in short, our current system is failing. Hall understands how to get Michigan kids the tools they need to succeed both in the classroom and in life.”

State Rep. Hall believes that:

  • left-wing political correctness has no place in our schools.
  • parental involvement is crucial to a quality education and schools should focus on teaching the fundamentals of reading, math, science, and skilled trades.
  • it is time to remove left-wing politics from the schools and start teaching the fundamentals.

That is why Rep. Hall voted to ban the politically correct, left-wing Critical Race Theory in our schools.

The GLEP went on to say:

“GLEP looks forward to working with Hall to expand public charter schools, implement Education Savings Accounts for K-12 education, and ensure well-designed standards that won’t allow any Michigan child to fall through the cracks. We are confident Hall will take a students-first approach to education and help us make Michigan a national leader in education.”

The Great Lakes Education Project is a bi-partisan, non-profit advocacy organization supporting quality choices in public education for all Michigan students. GLEP strongly supports efforts to improve academic achievement, increase accountability and empower parental choice in our schools.
